The site isn't run by, funded by or affiliated with the Department of Veterans' Affairs or any business. We don't sell anything, don't take referral fees and aren't trying to win clients. Businesses and practitioners listed here pay nothing and aren't endorsed.

How to use this guide

• Use it as a starting point. Read the guide, then follow the links to the official DVA source to confirm how the rules apply to you.
• Do your own research. DVA rules change, and every situation is different. What applied to one veteran may not apply to you.
• Get free help for your own claim. A trained ESO advocate can help at no cost. See Getting help with your claim.
